2021 Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal

2021 marks 34 years of Kmart Australia creating a brighter Christmas and New Year for thousands of people with its Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal in partnership with the Salvation Army.

This year the message is ‘small gift, big heart’ encouraging people to donate a gift no matter how small, with the main thing being the thought and kindness behind the gesture.

After what has been a challenging 18 months or more, the need for Salvation Army’s services has been greater than ever, with the Salvation Army providing over 154,000 sessions of care between January to June 2021, for those at risk or experiencing homelessness, as part of their Salvation Army’s Homelessness program.

The Wishing Tree Appeal begins Monday November 8 and runs through to December 24, 2021, for gift donations, and January 31 for coin donations. Located at Kmart Mildura, 20 Pine Avenue.

Kmart recommend choosing practical gifts to leave under the tree, items that can be used after Christmas. The gift giving guide includes:

• Books
• School supplies
• Headphones
• Everyday essentials for all ages such as socks, bed linen and bath towels
• Gift cards

Financial contributions can be made easily too, in a number of different ways:

  • Self-checkout: When shopping in store at Kmart, click the Wishing Tree logo on the self-serve checkout to add to a transaction.
  • Gold coin donation: Drop a gold coin into a collection box at the registers
  • Give online: Scan the Wishing Tree QR code found in store or on the Appeal website
